Lawngtlai: Five suspected Myanmar Nationals held in Mizoram with arms

The suspected Akaran Liberation Army (ALA) intruders were nabbed from Kakichhuah village in Lawngtlai district near Indo-Myanmar International bordering the Indian side.

Five suspected Akaran Liberation Army (ALA) from Myanmar Nationals with arms and ammunition were apprehended on 12th June 2021 in a joint operation by the Assam Rifles and the Mizoram State Police from a bordering village in southern Lawngtlai district.

According to the Police sources,  the suspected intruders were nabbed from Kakichhuah village in Lawngtlai district near Indo-Myanmar International bordering the Indian side. 

Security personnel had recovered a 9mm Pistol, a Point 38 Revolver, 55 rounds of bullets, and five hand grenades from the possession of the suspected cadres.

Additional Superintendent of Police C. Lalruatkima has informed that the captives were identified and produced to the District Court later with charges lodged against them in different sections under the  Indian Arms Act and Foreigners Act.
The court gave an order of remand for further interrogation by Police.
