Manipur Government ready for talks with the militants- CM N Biren Singh

Chief Minister Biren Singh has announced that the Manipur government is ready for talks with the militants.

Manipur CM Biren Singh has said that due to the upcoming state elections, efforts are being made to destabilize peace in the region. However, he said that this will not affect the election.

Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh said in an interview that following one of the deadliest attacks in the Northeast on November 13, in which the commanding officer of 46 Assam Rifles, his wife and six-year-old son, besides four paramilitary personnel were killed. CM is ready to negotiate with the terrorists to reach an "amicable settlement" or else they will "have to face the consequences". Assuring the people of Manipur for their safety, he said that India is a democratic country and will not bow down to anti-national sentiments.

The attack took place when the commanding officer of the Assam Rifles was visiting the post.

The CM has said that this type of terrorist attack will not be allowed to happen again in the state. The CM has mentioned that it is his dream to make Manipur a model state.
