BHARAT: In a daring yet foiled attempt to spread terror, Pakistan launched multiple kamikaze drones into Indian territory early this morning. At approximately 0500 hrs, a swarm of Byker YIHA III drones, loaded with high-explosive payloads, crossed the International Border and headed toward densely populated civilian areas in Amritsar, Punjab.
Displaying outstanding vigilance and operational readiness, the Indian Army’s Air Defence (AAD) units sprang into action the moment the threat was detected. Ground-based radar systems and electro-optical sensors picked up the drones immediately after airspace violation. Within seconds, quick-reaction air-defence guns strategically deployed along the border were activated.
The AAD gunners engaged the targets with pinpoint accuracy, neutralising all incoming drones mid-air before they could reach their intended targets. Importantly, no casualties or property damage were reported as the debris from the intercepted drones fell safely in open fields.
Initial forensic assessments suggest the drones were packed with high-yield explosives indicative of Pakistan’s intent to cause mass civilian casualties. This marks a new low in Islamabad’s continued attempts to destabilise peace in the region through proxy tactics and technological aggression.
Defence officials hailed the successful interception as a testament to India's multi-layered air defence architecture. “Our systems are fully integrated and capable of autonomous threat detection and neutralisation. The seamless coordination between radars, command-and-control systems, and frontline gunner teams saved countless lives today” a senior military officer stated.
The incident highlights both the growing threats in the domain of drone warfare and India’s preparedness to counter them with robust, responsive defence protocols. Civil authorities in Amritsar have issued a statement urging residents to remain calm and alert, while security forces continue surveillance operations along the border.
As India reinforces its commitment to safeguarding its citizens, today's incident serves as yet another reminder of the challenges posed by asymmetric warfare and the resolute response it demands.(PR)
